The Cotunduba Island Tower is proposed to be located in the bay of the city of Rio de Janeiro

It is a lighthouse-tower which welcomes visitors to the 2016 Rio Olympics arriving by air and sea

The Tower is to be located on Cotunduba Island and has a prominent position in the land and seascape surrounding Copacabana Beach and Rio

The Tower facilities include entertainment and cultural destinations as well as a marina and passenger wharf to service boat traffic from Rio

tension rods of the tower are illuminated with computer controlled led lighting
powered by solar radiation collected during the day

the color of each tension rod is controlled by programming
providing the opportunity for endless variety and artistic transition
